Hosted by Lions Clubs International, District 308 B1, Malaysia

Message From The Organizing Chairperson

Warmest greetings from District 308 B1, Malaysia. It gives me great pleasure to be appointed as Organising Chairperson cum District Chairperson to host the 25th District Twinning Anniversary.

It is time for us to renew our friendships and enhance co-operation among Lions members in neighbouring countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Philippines and Malaysia. We will also have Singapore joining our family very soon.

This year marks a special year for us as we are celebrating our 25th District Twinning Anniversary. We bring to you many exciting empowering programs such as spending time together serving the needy, single mothers’ group and children from the Special Olympics. Together, let us bring love and joy to them. This year, we will launch New Voices, explore twinning opportunities and leadership forum to help us exchange ideas in order to serve the Community better.

You will also have the chance to tour some exciting destinations around Kuala Lumpur and enjoy the sumptuous street food.

We look forward to having you in Kuala Lumpur soon.

Together, We Serve – bridging love with Care and Smiles.

Lion Tan Poh Ling
District Chairperson International Relations
Lions Clubs International District 308B1 Malaysia

To all Lions & friends of lions,

In conjunction with our MD 308 60th year anniversary, I am delighted & excited that our district 308 B1 where I helm as District Governor to take turn as the host to celebrate Lions clubs International 25th District Twining Anniversary cum New Voices (DTA/NV).

DTA family consists of lions from The Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei and Malaysia. This year we add a new DTA member – Singapore District 308A1 coming together to enhance lions cooperation through collaboration on community service projects and to foster friendship among lions from the above countries.

On the Premise “We Serve Beyond The Horizon”, we add vibrancy to this occasion.  We arrange 300 kids in Peninsula Malaysia from the seven states to have an excursion trip to Kuala Lumpur the capital city of Malaysia, a rare opportunity for these underprivileged children from various “Homes” as they have limitation in resources.  The kids were be treated to visit KIDZANIA where the kids will have a hand on experience how to be a Doctor, Salesman, fireman and etc. In addition, we also seek Berjaya Times Square approval to waive the entrance fee to their theme park.

We hope to create a social impact with this modest move, high-lighting different dimension of service needs to the public for the kids.

I humbly thank all the sponsors, stakeholders and generous public sponsors who facilitate us to make this program a remarkable one. Every part of your support in kind and/or cash had added luster to this event and we wish to record our profound appreciation.

Biggest thank to organizing chairperson and all my committee and lions who selflessly utilized up of their various resources and dedicated their time to help planning and execute this DTA/NV a success.

Finally, I wish to extend my gratitude to all the overseas Lions who patronized us, for the first time we extend our invitation to lions who are not members in the DTA and particularly the LIONS from People’s  Republic of China, India & Lebanon who had graciously consented to grace this occasion. It is also their maiden trip to DTA/NV. Their presence will add glows and make it a memorable one.

Thank you, “Bridging love with care and smiles”
